Weight Watchers Weigh In Day: Week Six

Down two pounds this week! That makes for a grand total of nine pounds. My clothes are fitting better and after a month and a half of Weight Watchers I am still plugging along.

I honestly can't remember a time when I have been this obedient to a weight loss plan. I love how God is softening my heart and melting my food idols away. It is such a relief to want to turn to the Lord instead of to food. Not to say that this has been perfected because I had a nasty slip up yesterday.

Yesterday was a hard day. Hubs was away and I wanted him near. Little Bit was away and I wanted him near. The car was gone so I was here all alone and wow did I ever feel alone. Instead of curling around my Bible like I should have I curled around a bag of ranch flavored rice snacks. I didn't eat all of them but I knew while I was doing it that it was for the wrong reason. I was lonely and that bag didn't help me to feel any better.

Thankfully, God has given me a husband who loves me. He took today to be with me. Little Bit went with Nana and Pop Pop for a date and I went with Hubs for a date day. We enjoyed each others company, ate good food, talked, and went to a movie. It was wonderful and I feel refreshed.

How do you and your spouse make time for each-other? Do you have dates or make time for each-other at home?

Summer Fun: Visiting the Nursery

Little Bit and I have been keeping very busy with loads of fun summery things. On Friday we were all feeling a bit grumpy so I made the executive decision for a field trip to the nursery. Little Bit and I packed up and wished Daddy a nice day of quiet working without us.

The nursery in town is a fantastic place not only to buy flowers but also just to visit. First, there are wagons! I was having the world's crummiest day and the Lord provided a very simple but very touching moment. Little Bit and I spied the perfect wagon but it had rained and the wagon was icky. I told Little Bit I wished Momma had thought to bring some paper towels. An older gentleman heard me and kindly found some in his car. I almost cried. Such a simple act of kindness meant so much during such a hard day. It truly blessed me.

Little Bit and I perused the flowers and veggies. In the back of the nursery is what I like to call little boy heaven. There are two giant cages filled with parrots.

There is also a small pond inside filled with koi and two turtles!

Just behind all of this wonderment is an entire outdoor pond area complete with bridges begging to be crossed.

Even in the midst of grumpiness we were able to have a mostly good time. Little Bit did a lot of exploring. He named all the animals we saw and told me what sound they make. We talked about the different insects that we encountered. He burned loads of energy making circles around the outdoor pond. He practiced waiting in line at the check out and he helped Momma put the plants in the back of the station wagon.

It was not a perfect day but it was a day filled with lots of learning and a little bit of grace. Hubs often reminds me that no day will be perfect. I am learning to embrace that. Learning to find that piece of grace buried in even the hardest of days and learning to thank the Lord for all the trials He puts in my path.

Weight Watchers Weigh In Day: Week Five

I am down 1.4 pounds this week which brings my total to seven pounds! Gardening like a crazy woman paired with serving on the meal ministry made for a pretty dern good week weight loss wise.

Since the gardening is still producing results my goal this week is to get outside every day that it isn't raining. I'm also going to try to work in more water this week. I am notorious for not drinking enough water. Hubs regularly likes to blame all my ailments on lack of water.

That's been my week! Pretty good and do-able goals to boot. Happy healthy living everyone.
